Curcumin and its related natural chemicals, known as curcuminoids, come from turmeric and have a long history of use in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. Turmeric is a rhizomatous perennial plant of the ginger family. The root rhizomes get their deep yellow-orange color from curcuminoids and also contain essential oils that are used in traditional Indian curry dishes. The 100 percent pure extract found in BCM-95® contains health-boosting curcuminoids and essential oils, which are derived from a unique extraction process that yields a powerful and bioavailable mixture of the two. It delivers up to seven times more pharmacologically bioactive curcumin to the blood compared with commercial curcumin products, and has been clinically shown to support healthy inflammatory response while simultaneously exhibiting anti-oxidant, mood-regulating, cognitive functioning and other health benefits.*
Like curcumin, ginger is a plant that has a long history of medicinal uses. It is from the same plant family as turmeric. Gingerol is the bioactive component of ginger and known for its medicinal properties, including powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, as well as easing nausea.* It has also been reported to inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity, which is why it is used to help relieve joint pain and the symptoms of inflammation.*
BioperineTM piperine is a patented extract derived from black pepper. Black pepper is one of the most widely used spices throughout the world. BioperineTM piperine has been added to this blend to help increase absorption. There is clinical evidence that piperine significantly improves the uptake of curcumin.
Possible side effects of CurcuminULTRA include temporary flushing, itching, rash or gastric disturbances. If these symptoms persist, discontinue use and consult a physician. Not for use by individuals under the age of 18. Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing.

I don't ache and creek and pop and crack in the mornings. I have stopped taking Aleve. My arthritis has not flared up at all. My blood pressure is WAY down. Cognitive function? Well, I don't know how to measure that. But it does work and I will continue to take it.
